Equipment Marketers provides the ability to operate laundry facilities with a number of different debit card systems based on the specific customer need. We recognize that each customer has different needs and requirements and we can offer a card system which meets those requests or tie in to your existing card system. There are two main types of debit systems in laundry facilities, online or offline. |

Online debit systems are used mainly in the college market where an ID card is also used as a payment method for items like cafeteria, food, soda and snack vending, photocopying and even consumer goods on and off campus. In this system, the card's value is stored on a central database and the card itself serves as identification only. |
Offline debit systems are used to provide a laundry payment card (typically a Smart Card) which can be used to operate the washers and dryers in a laundry setting. This is a "closed system" where the card's value is stored directly on the card itself. |
A Solid History of Debit Card Success
Equipment Marketers has been installing and operating debit card systems for laundry operations since their inception in the early 90s. In 1990, Equipment Marketers worked with Griffen Technology to pioneer one of the original on-line card systems at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, PA. Equipment Marketers is still on the forefront of this emerging field and we have developed and installed debit card systems for universities and apartment buildings utilizing all of the various card systems in the nation.
