CHERRY HILL, NJ (Nov. 23, 2009) – Equipment Marketers has successfully implemented a top-of-the-line laundry program at the University of Pennsylvania, serving a body of 10,000 students in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. On July 1, 2008, Equipment Marketers agreed to provide laundry solutions to the University of Pennsylvania. Within two months, Equipment Marketers developed and implemented an installation plan for 239 Maytag Commercial High-Efficiency Washers and 238 Maytag Commercial Dryers in a tight timeline for returning students within 55 different laundry rooms across this picturesque campus situated near the heart of Philadelphia. In close coordination with the University, Equipment Marketers delivered on laundry solutions including high-efficiency laundry equipment set to run free for students and the largest laundry monitoring system on the East Coast with laundry monitoring systems in each of the 55 laundry rooms across campus.

The University of Pennsylvania, a historic, Ivy League school with highly selective admissions, chose for its elite student body to create a new laundry program that is the premium amenity for residents: free laundry, no need to worry about debit cards or coins, just like home. As a world-class research institution with a history of innovation, the school also chose to install a laundry monitoring system in which students can see in real-time which machines are available and even receive an email or text when machines become available or their laundry is finished! The site currently averages 28 visits per day.
The residents are extremely pleased about the new equipment and laundry monitoring system. The University of Pennsylvania was thankful that Equipment Marketers was able to accomplish the transition from the previous laundry company seamlessly in the short time-frame provided. Additionally, the University is appreciative of the rapid response to the few service issues that have occurred and that any problems have been noted and addressed quickly. Equipment Marketers has a personalized webpage for the University of Pennsylvania within the company website for specific service requests within every building at the University. This is part of the laundry solutions package for university or other similarly large multiple housing accounts to ensure that residents are able to report and receive service in the most efficient manner. |
